Board- EBM
- In April sold the bookstore to Alliance Biblique. They specialize in running Christian bookstores in West Africa.
- Rich Melvin took over the bookkeeping responsibilities in the Niger field office. Diane completely turned the job over to him.
- They are on furlough until the end of December. God has provided them a place to rest and someone to take their Regional Coordinator responsibilities for three weeks in September. They are thankful because they are weary and need a good rest.
- The political climate is heating up. In Niger elections will take place during the last few months of the year. The president is trying to change the constitution so that he can run another term. In Mali all missionaries have left the Tomboucto region (north) due to terrorist activities. Thankfully all of the EBM missionaries had already left on scheduled furlough times before things go bad. Pray for safety and for the national believers. Pray for wisdom to know if/when the missionaries should return. Pray that God would use this time to strengthen the national believers and further His kingdom.
